we demand perfection once we hit our adolescent years…
we demand more of ourselves and set expectations that we will learn things incredibly quickly

and if we don’t, we deem ourselves as “failures” in a sense

but where does this stem from? this sense of instant gratification… whereby, if we don’t get the hang of something straight away, we quickly move on to the next thing

when we were kids, it took us a while to learn the alphabet. and we were okay with that…

we never said “fuck, this is hard. I’m going to move on to another language

so why is it the case with other things…

manage your expectations. show some grit. show some doggedness. and stick to that which to desire to learn
