The Power of Language

It’s just a game…
It’s a game…

It’s only a job…
It’s a job

should do it…
I must do it

The words you choose and verbalize have tremendous power and subconscious meaning to them. Read the above sentences again…

It’s only a job… as if there’s no real meaning to it. As if you don’t respect the position you’re in. As if you’re there to simply pass time and talk smack with your fellow employees

But the true power comes when you turn your shoulds into MUSTS

I should begin eating better and exercising more is different to I must begin eating better and exercising more – there’s more emotion behind it, and, in turn, more power to it

I must begin reading more and take action on what I learn…
I must become a person of action…
I must become someone who never takes excuses from themselves…

This terminology. This power. This emotion, over time, will change how you identify yourself. And when you can change how you identify yourself now

You will begin to become the person you truly want to be
