The Majority

How many times have you been told by someone else… “yeah, but everybody else is doing it

or… “it works, everyone does it”

More than once I’m willing to bet. It’s a psychological mechanism known as “social proof” at work… and it’s deadly

As you don’t want to be like everyone else

Everyone else¬†does the minimal amount of work required…
They look for shortcuts…
They settle for mediocrity…

And as Zach Even-Esh says so majestically: Mediocrity is the death of greatness

Siding with the majority is a surefire way to becoming a commodity and blending in…
It’s a surefire way to being just another business…
Or just another person

Strive to be different

To be the purple cow… the black sheep… or the blue horse

And remember that “whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect” – Mark Twain
