Width or Depth?

Most people would argue that businesses and entrepreneurs find ‘success’ because of their width… the larger amount of people you know and work with or help… the greater the amount of ‘success’ you will find

As you know what they say…

Your network is your net worth

Most people would also argue that relationships work because of their width too… the more friends you have, the more people you connect with, the richer and happier you can become

They would rather go a mile wide – garnering attention and friendship from the masses… than go a mile deep and really connect with, get to know and help a select few number of people

What do you believe?

Would you rather go a mile wide and an inch deep…
Or a mile deep and an inch wide…

Would you rather have ten people who would sorely miss you when you were gone…
Ten people whom you got to know better than you know yourself…
Whose lives you helped change and make oh so much better…
Whom you connected with on such a deep level that it is incomprehensible

OR…

Would you rather amass one million people who couldn’t give two shits about when you’re gone…
Whose names you never knew…
Whom you never got to know, never connected with, but received validation and false love from

It comes down to how you define ‘success’…

Relationships work because of their depth. Because of the empathy invoked that enables the unbreakable connection between people. The connection that says, without the need for words, “I love you. I’m here for you. I’d do anything for you”…

And I believe it’s the same for businesses. It’s about connection. About truly helping your client solve their problem. About really giving a shit and doing everything in your power to help.

It’s about quality over quantity
It’s about putting their needs before your wants…

It’s about going a mile deep for that person… and even deeper if necessary

So… I implore you to think about it once again

Would you rather go a mile wide and an inch deep ; or a mile deep and an inch wide
